📋 Booking and Pricing
How do I book a course? ⌄
You can book by calling us on 0333 567 9555, emailing info@firstaidandsafetytraining.com, or completing the enquiry form on our Contact page. We will confirm your booking and available dates within 24 hours.
Are your prices per person or per group? ⌄
All our prices are per group, not per person. For example, our Emergency First Aid at Work course is £350 for the whole group of up to 12 people — not £350 per delegate. This makes group training excellent value compared to sending staff on public courses.
What is the maximum group size? ⌄
All our courses accommodate up to 12 delegates per session. If you have more than 12 people, we can arrange additional sessions at a discounted rate. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Is there a minimum group size? ⌄
There is no minimum group size — we can deliver training for even a single delegate at the group rate. However, for very small groups (1–3 people), it may be more cost-effective to enquire about our public course options. Contact us to discuss the best option for your situation.
Are there any hidden costs? ⌄
No. The price quoted is the all-inclusive price for your group. It includes trainer travel to your premises (within Northern Ireland and Ireland), all training materials, workbooks, and certificates. There are no additional charges.
Do you offer discounts for multiple courses? ⌄
Yes. If you book multiple courses or multiple sessions, we are happy to discuss a discount. Please contact us with your requirements and we will provide a tailored quote.
🎓 Certificates and Qualifications
Are your courses accredited? ⌄
Yes. All our courses lead to Ofqual-regulated qualifications on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). This means they are nationally recognised, quality-assured, and accepted by HSE, Ofsted, and all major employers and insurers.
When do delegates receive their certificates? ⌄
Certificates are issued on the same day as the course for most qualifications. Delegates leave with their certificate in hand. For some regulated qualifications, a formal certificate is posted within 5–7 working days, with a same-day letter of completion provided as an interim document.
How long are the certificates valid for? ⌄
All certificates are valid for 3 years from the date of issue. We recommend refresher training before the certificate expires to maintain compliance. We can send renewal reminders if you register your details with us.
Are your first aid certificates accepted by HSE? ⌄
Yes. Our First Aid at Work (FAW) and Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificates are fully compliant with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and are accepted by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) as evidence of a qualified first aider in the workplace.
Do the paediatric first aid courses meet Ofsted requirements? ⌄
Yes. Our Paediatric First Aid (2-day) and Emergency Paediatric First Aid (1-day) courses both meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and are accepted by Ofsted for childcare registration purposes.
🏠 Course Delivery
Do you come to our premises? ⌄
Yes. For all first aid courses and on-site health and safety courses, our trainer comes to your premises. You simply provide a suitable training room and we bring all the equipment and materials. Trainer travel is included in the course price within Northern Ireland and Ireland.
Which courses are available via Zoom? ⌄
Our health and safety courses can be delivered either at your premises or via Zoom online. This includes: Level 1 and Level 2 Health and Safety, Level 1 and Level 2 Fire Safety, Level 2 Manual Handling, Level 2 COSHH Risk Assessment, and Level 2 Risk Assessment. First aid courses require practical elements and must be delivered in person.
What facilities do we need to provide? ⌄
For in-person training, you need to provide a suitable training room large enough for the group, with tables and chairs. For first aid courses, a clear floor space for practical exercises is also needed. We bring all training materials, manikins, AED trainers, and other equipment. For Zoom courses, delegates need a computer or tablet with a working camera and microphone.
Do you cover all of Northern Ireland? ⌄
Yes. We deliver training throughout Northern Ireland and also cover the Republic of Ireland. Our base is in Londonderry/Derry, and trainer travel is included in the course price for all locations within Northern Ireland. For Republic of Ireland locations, please contact us for a quote including any travel supplement.
How far in advance do I need to book? ⌄
We recommend booking at least 2–4 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date. However, we can often accommodate shorter notice bookings — contact us to check availability. For urgent requirements, call us directly on 0333 567 9555.
📚 Course Content
What is the difference between FAW and EFAW? ⌄
The First Aid at Work (FAW) is a 3-day full qualification suitable for higher-risk workplaces (construction, manufacturing, etc.) and covers a comprehensive range of emergencies. The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) is a 1-day qualification suitable for lower-risk workplaces (offices, retail) and covers the most common emergencies. HSE guidance recommends employers choose based on their workplace risk assessment.
What is the difference between Emergency Paediatric First Aid and Paediatric First Aid? ⌄
The Emergency Paediatric First Aid (1 day) covers the most critical paediatric emergencies. The Paediatric First Aid (2 days) is the full qualification covering a comprehensive range of paediatric emergencies in greater depth. Ofsted and the EYFS framework require the full 2-day qualification for at least one member of staff in registered childcare settings.
Is there an exam or assessment? ⌄
Yes. All courses include an assessment, which typically consists of a short written knowledge test and, for first aid courses, a practical skills assessment. The assessments are not difficult — they are designed to confirm that delegates have understood the key learning points. Our trainers support all delegates throughout the course to ensure they are well prepared.
What happens if a delegate fails the assessment? ⌄
If a delegate does not pass the assessment on the day, we will arrange a free reassessment at the next available opportunity. This is very rare — our trainers work hard to ensure all delegates are confident and prepared before the assessment.
